About Ethephon PGR
- Ethephon PGR is a kind effective product used as agricultural plants growth stimulants, ripening promoter, latex stimulant and for adjusting flower male-female ratio in some plant.
Mode of action
- Accelerating ripening and maturation of fruits by releasing ethylene gas. Fruits treated with ethephon showed rapid increase in respiratory rate, resulting in even ripening of fruit.
Application
- Accelerate ripening and maturation of fruits such as Apples, Banana, Nangka, Mango, Papaya, Cempedak, Peppers, Pineapple, Sugar cane, Tobacco, Tomatoes, etc.
- Increase numbers of female flower of cucumbers, between envoys shorter and improve fruits set.
- Promoting pineapple flowering for an even flowering in of the whole field, shorten the growth time of pineapple.
- Applied in rubbers for above 13-14 years old to increase production of latex.
Processing time
- The most suitable period is when the fruit begin to mature, when colored fruits begin to color, white fruits slightly turn yellow, then you would get the best effects.
Application Rate
- Recommendation for ripening agent dilution rate:
- For tropical fruits, mix 10 – 13 ml of Ethephon PGR in 10L clean water. Dip the fruits in it and wrap it with used newspaper and allow fruit to ripe.
- Recommendation for rubber trees dilution rate:
- Mix 10 ml of Ethephon PGR in 18 L of water. Spray the solution onto the rubber tapping panel or bark.
- Recommendation for cucumber dilution rate:
- Cucumber: For 1 – 2 true leaves stage, 2 – 4 true leaves stage and 5 – 6 true leaves stage, each stage spray Ethephon PGR once, spray on the whole plant with solution by mixing 7 ml of Ethephon PGR in 18 L of water.
Notice:
- Best time to spray: On sunny day after 4:00 pm. The liquid solution should be evenly sprayed on the whole plant leaves and growing points. Concentration solution should be appropriate; low concentration, effect on yield is not significant; High concentrations, plant growth will be inhibited and will appear dwarf; Concentration too high or spray too many times, it will lead the plants to the formation of empty sections and reducing the rate of female flowers. After application of Ethephon PGR, increase the supply of water and fertilizer, to ensure plants have enough nutrients and prevent pre-aging of plants.
Attention
- Do not mix with Ethephon PGR with other alkaline solution, this will cause a too fast decomposition. Ethephon PGR cannot be mixed with other chemicals. Once the mixing solution completed, it should be used within two hours.
Warnings and precautions
- Ethephon PGR containing acid. It will be harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use soap and rinse with clear water at the affected part of the skin. If stained in the eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
